Robert (Bob) L. Townsend has followed and studied the SOM teaching since he came to Atlanta in 2007 and has been an active member of CSLMidtown 6 months after its 2011 founding. His daily affirmation and favorite line in our Declaration of Principle is: “… All thought is creative and how I choose to think creates my personal experience….”

Bob Townsend is a business coach, consultant and mentor with over 40 years of senior level corporate and entrepreneurial experience in building consumer facing and B2B businesses. As an effective communicator and manager, he has demonstrated a full range of leadership skills in brand and product management, sales, marketing, content development, acquisition and distribution, digital technology, general management, building high-performance teams and enhancing a company’s ability to: Crystallize a vision; Position a new initiative, Identify partnerships, alliances and other opportunities; Evaluate under-performing or troubled business assets; Drive Strategic Programs through organizational complexities; and, Build and foster internal and external relationships.

He has received numerous industry awards and has sat on a number of boards including: Development Fund and Board of Trustees, Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ; Board of Directors, Cable Television Administration and Marketing Society (CTAM); CTAM TAMI Award for creating a national chapter structure; The Carl Weinstein Sales Achievement Award, Cable Advertising Bureau (CAB); Black Achievers in Industry, YMCA of Greater New York; Marketing Award, National Association of Minorities in Cable, Inc.  He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Bob is a graduate of Howard University with a BA in business/economics as well as graduate studies in marketing management at Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York.
